The Waterfront Festival has an incredible assortment of activites for all ages and interests!
From flying to boating, food to music, history to arts and crafts, everyone can find something at the Waterfront Festival!
 The Musuem and other organizations will be putting up numerous displays to celebrate Maryland's proud aviation heritage! In addition to the exhibitor displays, there will be antique, military, and modern airplanes and helicopters. Other highlights include:
- The opportunity to purchase sightseeing rides from Brett Aviation for an aerial view of the area. Three airplane rides or flying lessons will be available to lucky raffle winners.
- Open cockpits of historic fighter jets, bombers, and a Martin Airliner visitors can sit in.
- Maryland Air National Guard aircraft and crews - C-130 and A-10
- Local TV airborne news reporters are expected to be on hand. See the helicopters and equipment used to capture the scenes shown daily on TV.
- Public service aviation such as the Baltimore County & Maryland State police helicopters and their flight and medical crews.
- Displays, activties, information about the Civil Air Patrol, the Auxiliary of the US Air Force
- Historic aircraft including antiques; WWII warbirds; the Museum's aircraft collection (including several Martin aircraft built in Middle River and a Navy “Top Gun” fighter); and a variety of modern homebuilt, sport, personal, and business aircraft. Open cockpits allow visitors to sit in the pilot and co-pilot seats of an antique airliner or jets.
- Seaplanes arriving about 10am and departing around 5pm, including the large 100' Grumman Albatross that attended the last Festival.
- Maryland aerospace organizations such as the Lockheed Martin Corporation and the Space Telescope Sciences Institute (Hubble telescope), NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (space and earth sciences), the Maryland Aviation Administration, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. All will have exhibits and staff covering interesting programs, career opportunities, and information for students considering aerospace education and careers, and attractions for kids.
- Model aviation, including radio control and plastic scale modelers.
- Aviation and space related activities for kids, including drawing, making aircraft and spacecraft, contests, and games. Visitors can try riveting or listen to aviation themed puppet and musical shows that will be performed.
In addition to the aviation attractions there will be community and marine exhibits, a boat show, boating demonstrations and a docking contest, County and State activities, arts and crafts vendors, live musical entertainment, food and drink from area restaurants and wineries, historic sailboats, water taxi tours, a fire boat, picnic tents and tables, and activities for kids of all ages. |
